What is WHOIS Privacy?
When you register a domain, your name, email, address, and phone number are stored in the public WHOIS database โ visible to anyone who looks up your domain. WHOIS privacy replaces your personal details with generic privacy service information.
How to Enable It
- Log into your ACBIZ GLOBAL client portal
- Go to My Domains
- Click your domain name
- Scroll to Privacy Protection
- Toggle it On
Changes take effect within a few minutes.
Important Notes
- You must temporarily disable WHOIS privacy when initiating a domain transfer โ re-enable it immediately after
- WHOIS privacy is available for most .com, .net, .org, and new TLDs
- Some ccTLDs (e.g. .ke, .ng, .za) do not support WHOIS privacy by registry policy
Tip: Always enable WHOIS privacy on personal or small business domains โ it dramatically reduces domain-related spam calls and emails.
