Using the Cloud POS Offline Mode

Continue processing sales during internet outages with Cloud POS offline mode, and sync automatically when reconnected.

How Offline Mode Works

When your internet connection drops, the Cloud POS automatically switches to offline mode. A yellow "Offline" indicator appears in the top bar. You can continue processing sales, printing receipts, and checking inventory using locally cached data.

When connectivity returns, all offline transactions sync automatically to the cloud — no manual action needed.

What Works Offline

  • Processing sales (cash and pre-configured mobile money)
  • Product search and barcode scanning
  • Receipt printing
  • Basic inventory checks (last-synced data)

What Requires Internet

  • Real-time mobile money payment confirmation
  • Live inventory updates across multiple locations
  • Generating new reports and accessing the dashboard
  • User account changes and settings updates

Enabling Offline Mode

Offline mode is enabled by default on all Cloud POS accounts. Ensure the POS is fully loaded and synced at the start of each day so offline data is current.

Tip: At the start of each day, allow the POS to fully load and show "Synced" before relying on offline mode during the day.
